In 2006, I became aware of the Sagan Planet Walk in Ithaca, NY, and as an amateur astronomy buff, I found the idea of a scale model solar system to be a fascinating concept. While researching other such models on the Internet, I developed the idea to build one in St. Louis.

My design for the Delmar Loop Planet Walk incorporates many of the most user-friendly features found in the finest of the world’s planet walks, including an easy-to-follow linear path and a distance that can easily be walked in a reasonable timeframe. The information about each planet is written in non-technical language that can be appreciated by adults and children alike.

I hope you will find the planet walk to be entertaining and educational, and that you will enjoy the accompanying photos of its construction, installation and dedication.
